What is Airtel Money
Airtel money is an award winning mobile money service in Zambia. It is a phone-based E-wallet service that enables you to transact and save money just like you would with a traditional bank.
It allows you to pay bills such as Zesco, DStv etc. Buy data or minute bundles, airtime and other essential services. You can also transfer money instantly from your bank or vice versa.
But unlike a bank, the service relies on it’s network of privately run mobile money agents for withdrawals and deposits.
When receiving, it’s important to know the withdraw charges involved.

You can receive and send money to any registered user in the country. Including, Off or cross network transfers to MTN and Zamtel, in form of a voucher and direct transfer.
Airtel Money Transfer to MTN and Zamtel
Airtel money now allows cross network transfer of funds to other registered mobile money wallet users on MTN and Zamtel. The following are the transfer charges you might incur.

How to withdraw money from Airtel
Airtel money has several withdraw options for it’s users. These include;
- Withdraw from Agent
- Withdraw from bank (STANBIC, INDO ZAMBIA and NATSAVE)
- Withdraw from Other Agents
To withdraw, dial the new USSD code *115#, choose option two (Get Cash) then select any of the three withdraw options above.

- Maximum transfer amount (per transaction) – K10,000.00
- Maximum Withdrawal amount – K10,000.00
- Minimum deposit K5 and maximum deposit of K20,000
- Maximum Number of transactions per day – 15
- Max Transaction Amount (Per Day) Tier 1 – K20,000.00
- Max Transaction Amount (Per Day) Tier 2 – K100,000.00
How to Transfer Money from Airtel Money to Bank
Using Airtel’s mobile money service via the USSD code *115#. You can transfer money from your Airtel Money account to a Zambian bank account and vice versa.
