You can backup your iPhone using iCloud and iTunes. Backing up your iPhone is an important step to protect your data from loss, device damage and corruption. Or to simply ensure that your data is safe and secure. Here are some simple steps to backup your iPhone to iCloud and iTunes:
Backup iPhone to iCloud:
- First connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.
- Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
- Then turn on iCloud Backup.
- Tap on Back Up Now to start an immediate backup, or wait for the automatic backup to start if enabled.
- Wait for the backup to complete. You can check the progress under Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup.
Also note: You need to ensure that you have enough iCloud storage space to backup your iPhone. If you need enough space, you can purchase more iCloud storage.
How to Backup iPhone to iTunes:
- Connect your iPhone to your computer via a USB cable.
- Open iTunes on your computer.
- Then click on the iPhone icon in the upper left corner of the iTunes window.
- In the “Summary” tab, click “Back Up Now” to start an immediate backup, or “Automatically Back Up” to enable automatic backups.
- Wait for the backup to complete.
Note: before starting the backup process, the iTunes backup requires the latest version of iTunes to be installed on your computer.
Also, if you want to encrypt your backup to include sensitive information such as passwords, etc.; select the Encrypt iPhone backup option and create a password. Make sure to remember the password, as you won’t be able to restore the backup without it.
Once the backup process is completed, your data e.g photos, contact etc, can be restored to your iPhone device from the backup in case of data loss or corruption at any time.
By following these steps, you can backup your iPhone to both iCloud and iTunes to ensure that your data is always safe and secure.
